Reservation & Refund Policy
This policy explains the Mainely Danes puppy reservation process, the current $400 reservation deposit, payment confirmation, changes to puppy selection and circumstances in which alternative arrangements may be considered.

1. Puppy Reservations
Mainely Danes allows prospective owners to request a reservation for an available Great Dane puppy.
Availability can change as other families submit reservations. A puppy should not be considered reserved merely because a form, email or inquiry has been submitted.
A puppy is considered reserved only after the required reservation payment has been received and confirmed by Mainely Danes.
2. $400 Reservation Deposit
The current reservation deposit for an available Mainely Danes puppy is $400.
The deposit is applied toward the agreed purchase price of the selected puppy unless another written arrangement is made between the buyer and Mainely Danes.
The reservation deposit helps establish the buyer's commitment and allows Mainely Danes to remove or mark the puppy as reserved after payment confirmation.
3. Reservation Confirmation
Submitting the website reservation form does not itself complete the reservation.
After submitting a request, the buyer should follow the instructions provided by Mainely Danes and reference the correct:
- Puppy name
- Puppy ID
- Reservation request type
Mainely Danes will confirm when the required payment has been received and the reservation is accepted.
4. Remaining Puppy Balance
After the reservation deposit has been applied, the remaining balance is due according to the payment arrangement agreed between the buyer and Mainely Danes.
The timing of final payment may depend on factors such as puppy readiness, local pickup, delivery arrangements or other written terms agreed by both parties.
Buyers should confirm the exact outstanding balance directly with Mainely Danes before making final payment.
5. Applying a Deposit to Another Puppy
In appropriate circumstances, a reservation deposit may be transferred and applied toward another available puppy by agreement with Mainely Danes.
A transfer is subject to puppy availability and any price difference between the original puppy and the newly selected puppy.
If the newly selected puppy has a higher purchase price, the buyer remains responsible for the applicable price difference.
6. Reservation Deposit Refunds
Reservation deposits are generally intended to secure a puppy and are not ordinarily redeemable for cash simply because the buyer changes their mind.
However, Mainely Danes may consider an alternative arrangement when the buyer provides a reasonable explanation and both parties mutually agree.
Depending on the circumstances, an agreed resolution may include:
- Applying the deposit to another available puppy.
- Applying the amount toward an upcoming litter.
- Another mutually agreed arrangement.
- A refund when Mainely Danes and the buyer expressly agree that a refund is appropriate.
Refund Requests
Any refund or alternative arrangement should be confirmed directly with Mainely Danes. A request for a refund does not automatically mean that a refund has been approved.
7. If Mainely Danes Cannot Complete the Sale
If Mainely Danes determines that the selected puppy cannot be placed with the buyer, the parties may discuss an appropriate resolution based on the circumstances.
Depending on the situation, this may include transferring the reservation to another available puppy, applying it toward an upcoming litter, or another mutually agreed resolution.
Any applicable written puppy agreement will control where its terms differ from this general website summary.
8. Pickup & Delivery Arrangements
Local pickup is by confirmed appointment only. A reservation/payment arrangement must be established before a pickup appointment is scheduled.
Delivery charges are separate from the puppy purchase price unless specifically stated otherwise in writing.

9. Payment Methods
Mainely Danes currently allows customers to select from payment preferences including PayPal, Apple Pay, Chime, Venmo, Cash App, Credit Card, Zelle and other agreed alternatives.
Mainely Danes currently offers a 5% discount for qualifying Chime payments. The final payment amount should be confirmed before payment is submitted.
Payment details should be obtained directly through the communication instructions provided after the buyer's request has been reviewed.
10. Written Puppy Agreement
This webpage provides a general explanation of the Mainely Danes reservation process. Individual transactions may also be governed by a written puppy purchase or reservation agreement.
Buyers should read all applicable documents before making payment and retain copies for their records.
